# Image Generation & Mood Snap

The more you chat, the more a thought creeps in: "What would this scene actually *look* like?" redchat has two features that answer exactly that. The first is **Image Generation**, where you write your own prompt and get a picture back. The second is **Mood Snap**, which automatically pops up a scene matched to your character's emotion right in the middle of a conversation.

It's not complicated. Both take just a couple of taps, and even on the Free plan you can try them within the free daily uses you get every day. In this guide we'll walk through what each one is, how to use it, and exactly what it costs — with real numbers.

***

## TL;DR (for the busy reader)

* **Image Generation**: Turns your written prompt into a picture. **300 RP per image**. Gold gets **5 free per day**, Platinum gets **15 free per day** — after that, it's 300 RP each.
* **Mood Snap**: Automatically shows a picture matched to your character's emotion during a chat. Turning one on (unlocking it) costs **50 RP**. Silver gets 5 free/day, Gold 20 free/day, Platinum 80 free/day — after that, 50 RP each.
* **RP is permanent currency.** Once you top up or earn RP, it never expires. Take your time spending it — it won't disappear.
* Even if you run out of free uses and RP, **your chats never stop.** Default-model chat is unlimited for everyone.

## What is Image Generation?

You describe the scene you want in words, and it turns that description into a picture. Think of it like **writing out an order ticket at a restaurant and getting a plated dish back** — the more specific your ticket (the prompt), the closer the result is to what you pictured.

### How do I use it?

1. Go to the **Create** page.
2. Tap **Create Image**.
3. Write the scene you want in the **prompt** field. (e.g., "a beach at sunset, a smiling person in a white shirt, warm light")
4. Hit the generate button and your image appears.

> **Tip:** Splitting your prompt into "what / where / what mood" makes the results far better. Instead of cramming everything into one run-on line, separate the place, the person, and the mood with commas.

### How much does it cost?

| Item | Cost / Free allowance |
| ----------------------------- | -------------------------------- |
| 1 image | **300 RP** |
| Free plan allowance | None (300 RP each) |
| Silver allowance | None (300 RP each) |
| Gold allowance | **5 per day**, then 300 RP each |
| Platinum allowance | **15 per day**, then 300 RP each |
| HD (high-resolution) download | Gold & Platinum only |

> **Why this matters:** The cost is **300 RP per image**, and even Gold/Platinum get a **set number of free images each day** before they start spending RP. Just remember the table above exactly as written.

***

## What is Mood Snap?

Mood Snap **automatically displays a picture matched to your character's current emotion** as you chat. Picture the **panels in a comic book**: when the character is happy, a beaming panel slots in; when they're sad, a downcast one drops in — each one timed perfectly to the moment.

For example, if a character has a "Happy" emotion set up, an image to match will appear automatically the instant that character feels joy in the conversation. The biggest difference from Image Generation is that you never have to write a prompt yourself.

### What does it mean to unlock a Mood Snap?

**Turning on a new emotion scene for the first time** is what we call unlocking. Once you unlock a scene, you can use it, and each unlock costs **50 RP**. The **number of free unlocks you get per day** varies by plan, and once you've used up those free unlocks, 50 RP is deducted per unlock.

| Plan | Free unlocks per day | After free uses run out |
| -------- | -------------------- | ----------------------- |
| Free | None | 50 RP each |
| Silver | **5 per day** | 50 RP each |
| Gold | **20 per day** | 50 RP each |
| Platinum | **80 per day** | 50 RP each |

> **Why this matters:** Gold gets free use up to **20 per day**, and after that it's 50 RP each. The free uses **reset every day**, so there's no penalty for not using them all today.

### What is Mood Snap Remix?

It's a way to **tweak an existing Mood Snap image with words**. It's like **dropping a photo into an editing app and saying "just make the shirt blue."** Give it a text instruction like "change the shirt to red" or "make the background nighttime," and it changes only that part.

> **Note:** Remix also creates a new image, so it uses RP or free uses. The app shows you the estimated cost before you send, so take a quick look before you tap.

## Image Generation vs. Mood Snap — what's the difference?

Here it is in one line.

| | Image Generation | Mood Snap |
| ----------------------- | --------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------- |
| Who decides the picture | **You**, via a prompt | Automatic, matched to the **character's emotion** in chat |
| Where you use it | Create page | During a chat |
| Cost | **300 RP** per image | **50 RP** per unlock |
| Free allowance | Gold 5/day, Platinum 15/day | Silver 5/day, Gold 20/day, Platinum 80/day |

Put simply: if you're thinking **"I want to see this specific scene,"** use Image Generation; if you'd rather have **the right expression or scene just show up on its own as the conversation flows,** use Mood Snap.

## What you must know about Red Points (RP)

RP is redchat's **prepaid, top-up points**. Think of it like a **rechargeable transit card**. Once you load a balance, it **never expires** (it's permanent) and only ticks down as you actually spend it.

* RP is used for **extras** like Image Generation (300 RP) and Mood Snap unlocks (50 RP), as well as for premium-model usage once you've gone past your weekly allowance.
* **Heavier settings burn through RP faster.** Deeper memory, longer replies, and bigger characters all cost more. The good news: the app shows you the **estimated cost before you send**, so you can check before you tap.
* **You never get hard-locked.** Even if your free uses and RP are both gone, default-model chat is unlimited for everyone. The conversation itself never stops.

## Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

### Q. How much is one image?

**A.** It's **300 RP per image**. Gold gets 5 free per day and Platinum gets 15 free per day; once you've used those free images, 300 RP is deducted per image.

### Q. How many free images and Mood Snaps does Gold get?

**A.** Gold gets free use up to **5 images / 20 Mood Snaps per day**, and after that you spend 300 RP and 50 RP respectively. The free uses reset every day.

### Q. How much is one Mood Snap unlock?

**A.** It's **50 RP per unlock**. Free daily unlocks by plan are Silver 5 / Gold 20 / Platinum 80, while Free has no free allowance.

### Q. If my free uses and RP run out, does the chat cut off too?

**A.** No. Default-model chat is **unlimited for everyone**, so your conversation never stops. The only things that cut off are extras like images and Mood Snap — and even those keep working as long as you have RP.

### Q. Does unused RP disappear?

**A.** No. RP is **permanent**. It never expires, so there's no rush to use it all up.

### Q. I want to download an image I made in high resolution.

**A.** **HD download is available on the Gold & Platinum plans.** It isn't supported on Free or Silver.

### Q. Can I make a moving (GIF) profile too?

**A.** **GIF (animated) profiles are Platinum-only.**

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://powerfan-1.gitbook.io/redchat.app/faq/faq-image-moodsnap.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
